Fresh off his two recent wins at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona and the Mobil One 12 Hours of Sebring, the 17 year old driver broke the track record  today at the Circuit of the Americas in his debut in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Driving the No. 7 Chevy for Spire Motorsports, the teenager from Charlotte, NC was nearly three quarters of a second faster than Corey Heim of Marietta, GA who will also be starting on the front row for tomorrow’s XPEL 225 race at the Austin, TX road course.

Zilisch is building an impressive resume of accomplishments in his young marquee career. He was the 2022 Mazda MX-5 Championship runner-up and he took home the prize for rookie of the year for Hixon Motor Sports.

Last season, the Trackhouse Racing development driver made his ARCA Menards Series debut at Watkins Glen where he lead 34 of a total of 42 laps, claiming an impressive 2nd-place finish.

The Trackhouse team has also tapped the young talent for their entry in the Truck Series at Talladega later this season, and Spire Motorsports signed Zilisch for the playoff race at Homestead Miami Speedway in October.

Look for Zilisch and his impressive list of road course wins, to be a force to contend with tomorrow at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

Saturday, March 23 — NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, 1:30 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN & Sirius XM.
